The Horningsham Village Hall Regeneration Fund
Horningsham Village Hall is a beautiful and well-loved community resource but the building itself is in urgent need of work to ensure that it can sustain its important role in the village both in the near future and for generations to come. We have recently had a preliminary survey done which highlighted that in order to ensure the ongoing safety and functionality of the Hall, we will need to undertake major work to the roof, the heating and electrical systems and some structural elements over the next five years. We also want to make significant improvements to the toilets, the kitchen, storage spaces and interior decor. This work is essential in order to make the Hall a more welcoming, accessible and joyful space for everyone, one which connects across all the existing clubs and activities and also inspires new ways of coming together with friends and neighbours.
We anticipate that we will need to raise at least £100,000 to complete these works, which is why we are not wasting any time in getting started and have set up the Horningsham Village Hall Regeneration Fund. As the full picture of the costs becomes more clear, we will share this transparently with the community so that we can all work together to make it possible.
With the 100 year anniversary of the hall approaching in 2030, the Village Hall committee are committed to achieving this ambitious programme of work to secure the hall as a relevant, sustainable and vital space for the Horningsham community. To do this, we have developed a fundraising strategy which involves seeking support from local and national funding bodies, as well as raising as much money as we can from the direct support of our community.
If you have signed up for our Newsletter, you will be able to stay up to date with the exciting new events we are regularly adding to the calendar - including our new ‘breakfast + talk’ series, Rural Voices and the upcoming Harvest Supper. Please support these brilliant events as all profits will go towards the Horningsham Village Hall Regeneration Fund.
We also invite you to contribute directly to the fund using the link below, which allows you to make either a one-off donation or a regular subscription. Every penny really does count, as we will be able to use the fund as “match-funding” to support grant-funding applications and to show how much the hall means to the people of Horningsham and the local area.
